Last September 15th, Poppi, a Texan beverage company known for its low-sugar drinks, announced a collaboration with rapper Post Malone. The Grammy-nominated artist became an investor and partner in the brand.

Poppi founder and brand director, Allison Ellsworth, posted the collaboration announcement on Instagram. Additionally, they promoted the artist’s limited-edition can and the new flavor. The Poppi and Post Malone soda is a combination of raspberry, blueberry, and strawberry.
Recently, Post Malone publicly stated that he would stop drinking soda due to its health effects. However, the American superstar has claimed that he started drinking Poppi because of its low sugar levels and prebiotics. According to the company, the soda has less than 25 calories, only 5 grams of sugar, gut-friendly fiber, and is made with apple cider vinegar.
“We’re on a mission to revolutionize soda for the next generation, and who better to help us spread that message than global superstar Post Malone, who has such an impactful personal story to share,” said Allison Ellsworth. The brand founder added that “the partnership was so authentic for both Poppi and Post, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
Where did it come from?
Originally, the brand was called “Mother” and appeared on the TV show Shark Tank. Allison Ellsworth and her husband, Steven Ellsworth, sold their business idea to the sharks. Rohan Oza, an entrepreneur and guest on the show, was the company’s sole investor. Under his guidance, the company underwent a brand redesign in 2022 and has become a trend.
In August of this year, Poppi announced its expansion into Canada. Its growth in the US market has allowed the brand to be the best-selling through Amazon. Poppi is now available in major Canadian retail stores, including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Metro, and Costco.
“This expansion marks a significant milestone for the brand, and we are thrilled that Canada is the starting point for our international expansion,” said Ellsworth.
In addition to its low-calorie ingredients, the company claims that its soda cans are 100% recyclable. Its flavors include berries, watermelon, root beer, among others.
