During the Arre Regional Music Festival, Buchanan’s announced the launch of a clothing collection created by the Mexican brand, Mancandy. The whisky brand, part of the Diageo group, collaborated for the second time with the Mexican designer, Andrés Jiménez, to create a collection inspired by its Scottish whiskies and the festival.
The pieces of this collection utilize the yellows and greens of Buchanan’s Pineapple and Buchanan’s 12 labels. Additionally, the clothing also integrates the official logo of the whisky brand. Andrés Jiménez, the mastermind behind the collection, is a Mexican designer and singer who stands out for his urban style. In 2008, he created his own clothing brand called Mancandy, which is also Jiménez’s artistic name as a singer in the world of regional Mexican music.
In an official statement, Buchanan’s indicated that the collection is “a true celebration of Latin culture and music through the designer’s modern vision.” It also mentioned that the garments were “locally made” and had a limited production. Among the designs, you can find jackets, long-sleeved white t-shirts, bandanas, and hats.
“We are in a new era for Buchanan’s, where we seek to modernize, connect, and create a community with new generations, participating in diverse events and with references that are setting trends,” commented Jay Sethi, marketing director at Diageo Mexico.
The whisky company highlighted that this second collaboration “seeks to create a tradition and give visibility to high-quality clothing that follows trends but maintains traditional touches, reinforcing the importance of Latin culture for this new era of Buchanan’s.”
